I'm writing this for everyone who has asked about Hwy 29's start-up strategy. Our strategy currently involves four dramatic film projects: 1) "Swimming in a Lake of Fire," a feature film with a cash budget of $55k, 2) "The Hive," a web drama that will be completely self-funded (if necessary), 3) "Crier," a feature film that will also be completely self-funded, and 4) "Wrightsville," which we're hoping will be funded by healthcare sponsors ("Wrightsville" is our first health-themed movie and is also designed to be premiered episodically on the web).

The founders of Highway 29 moved toward self-funded projects because we recognized the difficulties of raising money in this economy, and because we felt our chances of building a sound financial footing would be much better if we could show investors and resource partners the quality of work we are capable of.
In terms of timing, we're hoping to get into production on the first three episodes of "The Hive" by the end of July; we're hoping to raise the money needed for "Swimming" by the end of July or perhaps mid-August, with principal photography in September, and we're hoping to move on with the production of "Crier" in the fall and winter. We could produce "Wrightsville" whenever we have sufficient funding.
The first draft scripts for "The Hive," "Crier" and "Wrightsville" are now complete and all three will be uploaded soon to the Development Group for review and revision.
We are especially excited about using the web as a marketing platform for the Highway 29 brand. We believe "The Hive" will be a great launching pad for the company and its other films.
